We are excited to announce that the Brownwood Foundation for Excellence has been revived and reorganized, which is a very positive thing for our students! In the past, the BFOE has been able to fund or supplement many innovative and creative learning projects/experiences for BISD students in and out of the classroom. The BFOE desires to continue this tradition beginning with the Fall 2015 semester. The BFOE’s Mission Statement is:
A community of alumni and friends providing funding for Brownwood Independent School District activities and experiences which inspire a spirit of excellence among our students, teachers and peers. The foundation may also collect, administer, and distribute gifts for Brownwood Independent School District’s educational programs and projects as designated by the donor or grantor. We are currently accepting applications for consideration for projects that fit the above criteria until Monday, June 1, 2015 for the Fall 2015 semester. Grants are limited to the BISD established curriculum framework for professional personnel working directly with children, including teachers, counselors, librarians and nurses. Applicants may apply individually or as a grade-level or subject matter team. All projects must offer an innovative, creative approach. Projects will be reviewed for eligibility and judged on the basis of their innovation, approach and application. Funds may not replace normal funding from tax-based sources. Products purchased with grant funds become the property of the district, not the individual. Applications may be found online at http://www.brownwoodfoundationforexcellence.org/applications.html or picked up at the Central Office. Please return the completed application to the Superintendent’s Office. Comments are closed.
